Vyčio skliautas 2026: Lithuania's national mobilisation-system check
Vyčio skliautas 2026 (Lithuanian for "the vault of Vytis") is Lithuania's largest annual check of the national mobilisation system. Dates: 25 September – 3 October 2026. The Government Chancellery calls it the third year of the exercise. The scenario is fictional and, in Chancellor Tomas Daukantas's own words on 25 September, does not come with a change in the threat level.

The same day in Klaipėda district: a check of forces protecting critical infrastructure from air threats. 3 October: a training humanitarian camp at the Lazdijai hippodrome (09:00–17:00).

- 25.09 — start. Prime Minister Mindaugas Sinkevičius calls the exercise a resilience test of the whole system. Daukantas says the threat level has not changed.
- 26.09 — the announced day of the practical volunteer evacuation. No morning report that columns had moved was available when the 26 September issue closed.
Why it matters for the Baltics
The check adds civilian density alongside Perkūno griausmas 2026 (to 15 October) and Latvia's Namejs 2026 (to 8 October). Digests score it as a defensive, pre-announced factor: the chancellor separated the exercise from any rise in threat. Talk of the Suwałki Gap concerns an international plan with Poland that has not yet been written, not a movement of troops.
